FAQ – Magnetic Track Lighting System

SECTION 1:Technical FAQ
1. Can the power supply be installed remotely for the magnetic track system?

Yes. Our magnetic system supports two types of power-supply solutions:

  • Remote driver, installed inside the ceiling or cabinet

  • Internal driver, integrated inside each luminaire

For residential projects, the internal driver is recommended because it simplifies after-sales maintenance and avoids opening the ceiling.

No. Each magnetic luminaire uses a constant-current driver, ensuring stable output and preventing voltage drop across the entire track.

No. The track system is non-polarized.
Every luminaire includes an internal driver and rectifier, so the installer does not need to worry about polarity.

  • M20 (4-wire): Supports DALI-2, Casambi, Zigbee, tunable white, RGBW.

  • M26 (2-wire ultra-slim): Wireless control only (Zigbee/Casambi). No DALI bus.

Yes, but the wattage per luminaire will be lower. 48 V is the recommended standard.

Yes. With DALI-2 DT6/DT8 drivers, the system integrates with KNX via DALI-to-KNX gateways (JUNG, Gira, ABB, Schneider).

Yes. All drivers use high-frequency constant current suitable for home cinema and video recording.

Yes. The system uses SELV 48 V DC, safe even when touched by children or pets.

10–15 m per feed, depending on total wattage. Add additional feeds for longer layouts.

No. The adapter uses a dual-locking system (magnetic + mechanical).

Requires DALI DT8 driver or Zigbee tunable-white driver. Each luminaire appears as a single address/entity.

  • Living room: 1500–3000 lm

  • Kitchen/island: 3000–5000 lm

  • Bedroom: 800–2000 lm

  • Hallway: 300–800 lm

SECTION 2:Installation FAQ
13. Can the track be installed on ceilings with aluminum channels or concrete slabs?

Yes.

  • Aluminum channel / gypsum → use trimless recessed (M20B/M20C)

  • Concrete → surface-mounted

Yes. Surface-mounted tracks require very little modification.

  • Design: 1–2 days

  • Track installation: 1–3 hours per room

  • Adjustment: 20–30 minutes

  • Fix track

  • Connect power

  • Test continuity

  • Insert magnetic modules

  • Adjust beam angles
    No tools needed for repositioning.

Yes. Send your CAD drawings for evaluation.

Recommended plasterboard thickness: 9–12 mm.

Yes. Black and white are standard; custom RAL colors available.

3-year warranty, including free replacement and shipping for defects.

Not recommended. Rail dimensions and adapter structures vary.

No. Internal-driver modules contain their own driver.

SECTION 3:Smart Control FAQ
23. Does the system support wireless dimming via Zigbee, Casambi and Matter?

Yes. Our magnetic luminaires support Zigbee 3.0 and Casambi directly.
Matter is added at the control layer, using Matter wall switches or smart relays in the wall box.
This hybrid setup keeps Zigbee stable inside the luminaires and uses Matter for native app and voice control.

In a typical villa project:

One Zigbee coordinator or gateway can reliably handle 40–60 luminaires

With routers (powered devices), the mesh can be extended further

For larger villas, we recommend splitting by floor or area into two or more networks

Your integrator can size the Zigbee network based on total rooms and circuits

Yes. Our Zigbee 3.0 drivers are compatible with Philips Hue Bridge.
The lights appear as standard Hue lights in the app and can be controlled by:

  • Hue mobile app

  • Hue wall switches / Friends of Hue keypads

  • Hue scenes, routines and automations

This is a very popular setup for EU residential projects.

Yes. There are two main options:

  • Use a Zigbee or Matter smart relay behind the traditional wall switch

  • Or replace the switch with a smart Zigbee / Matter keypad (rocker or push button)

This way, the client keeps the familiar wall control, while still using apps, scenes, voice and automations.

Yes. Our Zigbee 3.0 luminaires work well with Zigbee2MQTT (Z2M) and Home Assistant.

  • Each luminaire appears as a separate light entity

  • You can create groups, scenes and automations

  • Ideal for advanced users who want a unified ecosystem with many brands

Many EU integrators already use this setup in real villa projects.

For tunable white (CCT) and RGBW, we recommend:

  • DALI DT8 drivers for wired professional control (via KNX / DALI)

  • Or Zigbee CCT / RGBW drivers for wireless control

Matter is usually used at the scene / room / group level, while the detailed CCT or RGBW control runs through DALI or Zigbee.

Yes. Many high-end projects use a mixed architecture:

  • DALI-2 in key areas (e.g. main living room, kitchen, long corridors) connected to KNX or a central controller

  • Zigbee luminaires in bedrooms, secondary areas or where wireless is more practical

Both can coexist in the same magnetic track system as long as the driver type is chosen correctly per circuit.

A very practical and future-proof setup is:

  • Zigbee 3.0 luminaires on the magnetic track (stable inside metal channels)

  • Matter (Thread) wall switches or relays for native control in Apple / Google ecosystems

  • Optional DALI-2 / KNX in technical rooms for advanced wired automation

This gives the homeowner local wall control, app and voice control, and flexibility to expand the system over time.

Yes. Our M20 (4-wire) track supports DALI-2 for professional wired control.
Each luminaire uses a DALI DT6 (single-channel) or DT8 (tunable white) driver.

  • DT6 → One address per channel (ON/OFF + dimming)

  • DT8 → One address for CCT or RGBW, more efficient for residential projects
For villa projects with tunable white, DT8 is highly recommended.

Yes.
DALI integrates into KNX using a DALI-to-KNX gateway from brands like:

  • JUNG

  • Gira

  • ABB

  • Schneider

  • Theben

Once paired, each luminaire/group appears in the KNX visualization for full control.

Yes.
The DALI bus requires a 16 V DALI power supply, which is independent from the 48 V DC power supply for the lights.
One DALI PSU can support up to 64 addresses (or more with multi-master systems).

  • Standard DALI supports 16 groups

  • DALI-2 controllers (especially KNX gateways) allow more flexible group logic

  • For villas, designers typically divide groups by:

    • Room

    • Function (ambient / task / accent)

    • Pathway lighting

Yes.
It is common in EU villa installations:

  • DALI → Main living room, kitchen, long corridors

  • Zigbee → Bedrooms, guest rooms, secondary areas

  • Matter → Wall switches or central scenes

Both systems can coexist using the same track as long as the correct driver is installed in each luminaire.

Any KNX-compatible panel can control the DALI gateway, such as:

  • JUNG LS Touch

  • Gira G1

  • ABB RoomTouch

  • MDT Glass Touch Panel

  • Basalte Sentido (premium)

These panels allow scenes, dimming, and CCT control for all DALI magnetic track lights.

Yes — this is becoming very popular.
Architecture:

  • DALI → precise dimming for luminaires

  • Matter → native app + voice control for the homeowner

  • Integration happens through platforms like:

    • Home Assistant with DALI integration

    • Matter-compatible gateways

    • Hybrid KNX/Matter automation

This allows both professional wired control and consumer smart home control in the same project.
